Did you know?
« Over 90% of skin conditions are not causes by food allergies but are the result of dietary deficiencies, atopic dermatitis or parasites and pollen.»
Treatsy Skin and Coat allows to nourish your dog’s skin, strengthen its skin barrier, and give him a shiny coat!
The skin is the largest organ in the body and therefore constitutes the first line of defense against external aggressions such as pollen, parasites and wounds. (….)
It is a particularly sensitive organ that must be taken care of. It is estimated that around 16 million dogs in Europe suffer from skin disorders, making it one of the main causes of veterinary consultation. Contrary to what many pet owners think, in more than 90%** of cases, the skin condition is not linked to a food allergy.
The symptoms of skin problems are varied and numerous: red skin, scratching, hair loss, bad odor, oily skin, scales, otitis, dry skin, lack of shine, localized hyperpigmentation of the skin…
Although the cause of skin disorders varies, the most common causes are environmental allergies (such as pollen, grass, dust mites, and fleas) and atopic dermatitis.
In all these situations, nutrition plays an important role: in fact, if the right nutrients are provided, they will help rebuild the skin and hair. In addition, poor quality nutrition is often the cause of a dull coat and heavy shedding.
How does it work?
Treatsy Skin & Coat for dogs is highly concentrated in scientifically proven active ingredients to improve the shine of your dog’s coat and help rebuild and strengthen their skin. It contains the nutrients your dog needs to reduce skin inflammation, strengthen the skin barrier, and promote hair growth.
1 – Omega-3 fatty acids: together with antioxidants like vitamin E, Omega-3, EPA and DHA help reduce skin inflammation, which may be a symptom of a skin disease or may result from occurring due to scratching and biting.
2 – Amino acids: these are very important because they contribute to the good health, coloring and reconstitution of hair. For example, sulfur-containing amino acids such as methionine make up keratin, an essential constituent of the cell layer of the epidermis and hair. Phenylalanine is essential for dogs with black or fawn coats (light yellowish beige): if the intake is too low, the coat often turns red or becomes dull. Other amino acids play different roles for the health of the skin and coat: a deficiency in amino acids can cause many visible problems such as brittle hair, abnormalities of the epidermis, difficult healing, etc.
3 – Vitamins: vitamins, particularly those belonging to group B, play a crucial role in the renewal of skin and hair in dogs. For example, biotin, also called vitamin B7, helps reduce hair loss. B vitamins also promote skin hydration, hair growth, etc. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that helps protect skin and hair cells from damage caused by free radicals. Vitamin A promotes hair growth.
4 – Minerals: several minerals are essential to the health and appearance of your dog’s hair. Zinc is important in regulating many aspects of metabolism, including maintaining healthy skin and coat. It allows the maintenance of epidermal integrity and must be provided in sufficient quantity to ensure the renewal of the skin. Manganese is also a very important mineral; it is essential for amino acid metabolism and therefore promotes healthy skin and a beautiful coat.
For even more comprehensive and effective support, we recommend combining this treat with our Treatsy Skin & Coat oil, specially formulated to support strengthen the skin barrier and beautify your dog’s coat.
Each treat measures about 2 cm and weighs 3g.
